Remembrance Day Commemorative Service

Thanks to everybody who attended the Mt Pleasant Public School Remembrance Day Commemorative Service on Monday. It was lovely to welcome our special guests, representing Legacy; Warrant Officer Class 2 Steve Black, Mrs Jill Purvis and Mr Keith Purvis. Led by Ocearna Matthews and Lachlan Robinson, the school paused to observe Remembrance Day, commemorating the centenary of the Armistice. The personal quality highlighted by the Department of Veterans Affairs this year is ‘Candour’. To have candour means you are open and honest. Throughout history Australians have told the stories of their wartime experiences in an open and honest way.

In tribute of the quality of candour, we had a display of red flowers around the flagpole. The students were able to take home a red flower in memory of those who have served in wars throughout history.
